Amogy is a well-funded technology startup on a mission to decarbonize transportation by developing a unique and revolutionary power system that runs on ammonia as a renewable fuel. By joining our team, you will be creating the first page of the ammonia-driven green economy. Be part of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to transform the transportation industry for a sustainable future!
What You Will Be Doing:
Amogy is seeking a consultant who specializes in commercializing heterogeneous catalyst. The consultant will advise and assist with the development of a strategic plan to advance new, proprietary heterogeneous catalyst technologies to commercial deployment for sustainable market growth. The catalysts are one component of a proprietary multi-component technology package utilizing ammonia as a hydrogen carrier for carbon-free energy generation.
- Recommend options for industrial-scale manufacturing (e.g., strategic partnerships, toll manufacturers, material suppliers), global supply logistics (raw materials, new catalyst, and the reclamation and recycling of spent catalyst) and technical support services
- Liaise with Business Strategy and Development teams to comprehend timing and volumes for commercial catalyst deployment and key performance requirements
- Work with R&D team to understand the catalyst technology and advantages over competitor offerings.
- Advise on the development of accelerated aging tests and thermo-kinetic modeling to predict catalyst lifetime.
- Advise on options for step increases in scale of catalyst manufacture (batch sizes from 10’s of kilograms to 100’s of kgs, to 1 MT to 100+ MT).
- Recommend 3rd party companies for potential partnerships to increase production volume to industrial scale.
- Assist in establishing lead case scenarios and plans for catalyst commercialization for use in company power-pack applications, reactors for pilot fuel production, and for full-scale hydrogen plants.
Requirements
The minimum requirements we seek:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, a relevant Engineering discipline, or Materials Science
- 15+ years active in the industrial catalyst business (e.g. scale up, manufacturing, marketing).
- Involvement in and oversight of the commercialization process for heterogeneous catalysts, including market strategy development
- Led business and commercial activities with demanding customers (e.g. oil and chemical companies, EPC’s).
- Previously built and managed relationships with vendors and suppliers (e.g. toll manufacturers, raw material suppliers, catalyst recyclers)
- Knowledge of intellectual Property protection, firewalls, and technology licensing
- Experienced in contract negotiations, operational safety (e.g. OSHA) and DOT regulations
- Well-versed in quality control procedures (e.g. ISO 9000, Six Sigma, Kaizen)
Preferred Experience
- Managed a catalyst manufacturing facility (e.g. establishing pilot plant operations or managing industrial-scale production)
- Understanding of chemical processes, process control systems, material specifications, life cycle analysis
- Familiar with techno-economic modeling and TCO calculations
- Experienced in supply chain management, including accounting and auditing of precious metal components and involvement in trading and/or lease programs for precious metals
- Business development related to the energy sector and/or hydrogen production (e.g. SMR)
- Expert in specification setting (raw materials, manufacturing windows, finished product)
If this sounds like a role that will excite you, and you see yourself in a fast-paced, high-growth environment where you are learning and collaborating cross-functionally, we want to talk to you!
