What You’ll Be Doing:
We are looking for a Procurement Intern to join our growing Manufacturing team in Houston. Reporting to our COO, this role will manage supplier negotiations and contracts, optimize plant shipments, and validate suppliers by working closely with internal and external customers, production managers, shipping managers to support Amogy’s commercialization efforts.
- Analyze, understand, and convert MRP messages to raw material purchase orders and plans to meet production/forecast demand
- Identify and react to short term material plans that do not meet customer requirements
- Interface with production, sales, purchasing, and suppliers to schedule purchase orders of raw material
- Host supplier calls and in-person meetings when supplier performance is not meeting expectations
- Use strategic thinking skills to predict issues and respond before there is downtime due to shortages
- Work with Quality and Supplier Quality to drive resolution on manufacturing material quality and supply issues
- Manage safety stock levels to minimize downtime due to shortages and not overly inflate inventory
- Implement and manage supplier VMI programs including EDI to reduce inventory
- Assist with cycle counting and yearly physical inventory
Requirements
The minimum requirements we seek:
- Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics or Business Administration
- Ability to speak effectively with all levels of organization and customer representatives
- Thrive in an agile start-up environment
The hourly pay range for this position is
$25.00 - $28.00 per hour. The salary pay range is applicable to positions physically based in
Houston. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, job experience and physical location.
