Infinium is seeking to fill a position at its Technology Center located at West Sacramento, CA as an R&D Associate. This position requires the ability to fulfill a range of R&D-related activities, particularly in catalyst development and in-process performance evaluation. All operations should be performed in a timely fashion with high quality data output. General knowledge of material synthesis, safety protocols and standard operating procedures is required. Experience with catalyst synthesis, testing protocols, characterization methodologies and practices is desired. A minimum of 2 years relevant experience in lab or industry is preferred. Experience with wet chemistry, operating pressurized reaction systems, characterizing products with GC, GC-MS and other instruments is highly desirable. Must be comfortable working with compressed gases, organic solvents and other chemicals.The successful candidate should be familiar with both PC and Mac and fluent in the use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Familiarity and skill with JMP or LabVIEW is also desirable. The candidate will work with Infinium’s team of scientists, engineers, and technicians. Overall, the candidate should be safety oriented and organized.
Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
- Performing and maintaining Infinium catalyst testing processes
- Following SOPs and all safety protocols
- Conducting catalyst synthesis, formulation, loading to reactor and activation
- Conducting catalyst performance test in reaction system at elevated temperature and pressure
- Analyzing products with GC, GC-MS and other instruments and methods
- Keeping clear and detailed experimental records
- Processing data, generating report and present at different level meetings
- Maintaining laboratory systems and facilities as clean and organized
- Being flexible for other tasks, such as manufacturing help, ordering materials and supplies, and occasional facility maintenance
