Job Summary
The Operator's responsibility entails offering functional, day-to-day assistance and monitoring of unit operating equipment. The Operator must master an effective working knowledge of safe work practices, essential preventative and mitigative safeguards applicable to the assigned area, potential process hazards and their effective barriers, emergency response procedures, and key operating envelopes for their equipment. Operators are the front-line workers that help protect our People, Equipment, Assets, and Reputation.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Strict adherence to and comprehensive understanding of the Company’s Safety Program.
- Actively advocating for and upholding an accident and incident-free work environment.
- Meeting all environmental requirements during shifts to ensure compliance.
- Proficiently reading and interpreting flow sheets and P&ID’s.
- Attaining and sustaining various Unit Certifications within designated timeframes.
- Conducting visual and physical checks (Rounds) on unit machinery and equipment at least twice per shift.
- Conducting daily inspections of firefighting and other plant safety equipment.
- Collecting unit samples, such as gas, liquid product, tank samples, line samples, waste/effluent water, and special samples.
- Adhering to approved SOP’s for startup, shutdown, inventory, and de-inventory of plant equipment.
- Preparing equipment for maintenance work using plant Lockout/Tagout procedures.
- Obtaining and maintaining certification as a Permit Writer for Safe Work, Hot Work, First Line Break, and Confined Space Entry.
- Troubleshooting equipment/process issues in the unit and conducting minor repairs as necessary.
- Accurately documenting and reporting equipment problems to the Supervisor for work order generation.
- Contributing to the planning and execution of Preventative Maintenance activities.
- Assisting the Maintenance Team during unit equipment repairs as required.
- Ensuring daily housekeeping standards are met within the Unit.
- Following instructions from Senior Operators and Supervision and executing them effectively.
- Collaborating closely with other Unit Technicians/Disciplines to meet daily objectives.
- Being available for overtime work as necessary based on staffing needs and workload.

We are looking for candidates who are resident or have a desire to reside in Pecos, TX long-term but are willing to spend ~24 months residing and working in Corpus Christi as part of our operations team in preparation for a role in our future Pecos facility. We are looking for candidates with operations experience or newly graduated candidates willing to start at an intern or entry level.
