We are developing technologies that will enable the production of low cost, 24/7 available carbon-free hydrogen. Our team is led by seasoned energy executives and world-renowned technical thought leaders. We are looking for a fantastic Laboratory Technician to work in the field and join our Columbus, Ohio team.
Ideal Candidate (Requirements):
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Chemistry, Engineering or related field
- 2-5 years’ experience of laboratory or field based technical experience to include sample collection and analysis
- Experience with quality assurance of data and trouble shooting
- Experience and or willing to learn to work with highly specialized lab equipment
Ideal Candidate (Nice to haves):
- Be able to drive a mobile lab trailer to and from sites
- Experience handling hazmat materials/samples
- Strong administrative skills, willing to liaise with multiple people on site and in office
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for sample collection of drill cuttings, gas, and liquids on field site, analysis of sample using multiple laboratory instruments, maintaining the field laboratory and liaising with various on-site and office personnel
- Able and willing to be trained on various instrumentation to perform gas and liquid analyses in mobile chemistry laboratory, such as gas chromatography, residual gas mass spectrometry, and ion chromatography
- Responsible for quality assurance and control of analytical instrumentation and affiliated equipment, including leak checking, analyzing standards and blanks, instrument troubleshooting, and other lab related upkeep and maintenance
- Able and willing to be trained on procedures to support data collection, raw data processing, interpretation, and report generation, while communicating significant changes in data to the field and lab geologists
- Provide support for sample preparation and transportation, ensuring sample integrity
- Work closely with Field Geologist and mudlogger, providing on site support
Onboarding Notes:
- This role reports into the Columbus office and requires extensive field work and travel
- The role reports into the Field Geologist and Laboratory Geologist
- Basic training in managing equipment will be provided
