We are developing technologies that will enable the production of low cost, 24/7 available carbon-free hydrogen. Our team is led by seasoned energy executives and world-renowned technical thought leaders. We are looking for a Senior Seismic Stratigraphy Geologist to join us in either our Denver, CO or Columbus, OH offices.
Candidate Requirements
- Master’s degree or above in Geology, Geophysics, or a related field
- 20+ years of experience in subsurface exploration with expertise in seismic stratigraphy in multiple depositional settings, paleogeographic mapping, reservoir quality and QI applications
- Fluent in seismic interpretation in a variety of extensional, compressional, and strike-slip tectonic regimes on and offshore including seismic facies analysis
- Proven oil/gas finder with ability to work at regional to prospect scale
- Ability to conduct regional studies
- Experience working with a reservoir engineer for inputs to static and dynamic modeling
- Commercial acumen and experience working with partners
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and in a geographically distributed team
Preferred Candidate Qualifications
- International and US experience with ability to work across multiple areas of responsibility
- Familiar with intrusive geologic settings including igneous and salt environments
- Experience integrating critical risk elements of trap, seal, source, migration and reservoir for relative portfolio ranking and inputs to economic models
- Experience with clastics and carbonates as well as fractured rock reservoirs and property prediction for reservoir fluid simulations or geomodeling experience
- Experience working in igneous rock provinces, including from the oil & gas, mining, or geothermal industries
- Experience developing new methods and novel applications leading to patent or intellectual property submissions
- Experience with acquisition and processing of reflection seismic, particularly onshore data, and/or potential field surveys
Job Responsibilities:
- Assessing reservoir potential and overseeing other geoscientists’ work on reservoir characterization
- Conduct detailed stratigraphic analysis and interpretations of geophysical and geological data to assist with geologic hydrogen prospects
- Conduct integrated regional hydrogen systems studies for ranking areas of interest globally
- Stay abreast of technological advancements in hydrogen recovery from a variety of reservoir types (clastic, carbonates, and fractured mafic rock) and implement innovative approaches to geologic hydrogen exploration challenges
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including geophysicists, geologists, geochemists, engineers, and regulatory professionals to assess the viability of prospects
- Present findings to management and stakeholders, providing recommendations for drilling and exploration activities; collaborate with partners to execute desired work-programs
