Redwood Materials was founded in 2017 to create a circular supply chain for electric vehicles and clean energy products, making them more sustainable and driving down the cost for batteries. We’re doing this by developing and deploying new technologies to increase the scope and scale of recycled and sustainable materials in the global battery supply chain.
Senior Accountant
We are seeking a Senior Accountant for our expanding European Accounting team. As a Senior Accountant, you will assess business expenses, assist in preparing optimized budget plans, and analyze complex financial records and reports. You will also oversee accounting operations, including the regulation and authentication of financial transactions, in addition to maintaining a ledger to ensure effectiveness and accuracy of all accounting tasks. The position is based at our Bremerhaven office.
Responsibilities will include:
- You are responsible for the ongoing accounting of all European subsidiaries of Redwood Materials/ REDUX Recycling GmbH
- First point of contact for group consolidation according to US GAAP
- Preparing financial reports and recommendations for management and operational areas.
- Documenting policies, procedures, and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility with a focus on internal controls.
- Researching complex transactions.
- Reviewing budget to actual for costing and project systems activities.
- Assisting with the external audit process.
- Partnering with our Tax Advisor to prepare the advance VAT return
- Maintenance of data in our enterprise accounting system, including monitoring and updating available capital funding.
- Preparing journal entries and complex calculations.
- Meeting all financial reporting deadlines. Performing Monthly, Quarterly and Year End Closing, including accrual entries.
- Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
- Advising department heads and managers on accounting policies; interpreting and applying policies to various functions.
- Financial statement analysis.
Desired Qualifications
- 5+ years increasingly complex experience in Accounting Standards- (US GAAP, HGB, or IFRS)
- Professional Proficiency in both German and English (level B2 and above).
- Demonstrated verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Experience in manufacturing.
- Experience with MS Excel, Oracle and/or SAP.
- Comfortable rolling-up sleeves and work with team members hands-on.

The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
