Redwood Materials was founded in 2017 to create a circular supply chain for electric vehicles and clean energy products, making them more sustainable and driving down the cost for batteries. We’re doing this by developing and deploying new technologies to increase the scope and scale of recycled and sustainable materials in the global battery supply chain.
Director of Business Operations
The Director of Business Operations will be responsible for defining and executing the commercial operations strategy for Redwood Materials, with the goal to create a sustainable and profitable business with strong growth, positive operating margin, and free cash flow generation. The company is seeking an individual who will provide leadership, strategic vision, and functional expertise.
Responsibilities will include:
- Meet weekly with Finance, Sales, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams to develop and track KPIs, action items, and strategic long-term planning
- Work closely with Finance to review regular reporting items, provide direction and feedback, and prepare for leadership reporting
- Work with Legal to ensure the company is meeting compliance requirements for export/import, government contracts, and other required areas
- Partner with IT to create systems and infrastructure that are secure and scalable
- Support operating plan and forecasting; drive execution on the assigned operating plan to ensure that the business achieves growth, orders, and cash targets
- Ensure order acceptance, customer satisfaction, and on time delivery requirements are being met
- Identify, develop, and leverage financial constructs to support strategic bids
- Support strategy and growth initiatives, providing support and guidance to leadership on areas of opportunity and risk across the organization
Desired Qualifications:
- BS/BA in business, management, or science.
- Graduate degree (MBA) and/or equivalent experience and education.
- Passionate about sustainable energy.
- 10+ years of commercial and/or operations experience, including new product planning, business operations, marketing, market analysis, and sales leadership.
- Experience building strategic relationships in a B2B environment.
- A strategic/analytical and results-driven thinker with the ability to plan, direct, and lead a robust Commercial organization.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong customer relationships.
- A resourceful and creative problem solver who will ‘roll up their sleeves’ to get the job done.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-moving, dynamic small company environment.
- Strong executive leadership, communication, presentation and business partnering skills.
- Outstanding track record of building effective organizations, developing employees, and influencing decision-making at all levels in organizations.
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience working with others in a positive collaborative manner.
The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
