Controls (I&C) Technician, Cathode
Redwood Materials is seeking a Controls Technician to join our team at our Storey County facility located just east of Reno, NV. The Controls Technician’s primary responsibility is to implement and maintain the controls hardware, instrumentation, and electrical equipment for the CAM2
Responsibilities will include:
- Troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and automated manufacturing equipment.
- Fabricate and perform upgrades and repairs to electrical control panels.
- Field wire instrumentation and motor controls.
- Perform and document maintenance calibrations, installations, fault diagnosis, repair (redlines) of electronic, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic instruments and systems.
- Performs troubleshooting on all instrument systems and process control using P&ID and electrical schematics.
Desired Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4+ years’ hands-on experience working in an automated manufacturing environment; fabricating and wiring control panels and troubleshooting control systems and instrumentation.
- Ability to interpret and follow electrical schematics and competency around voltages up to 480V.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely perform job duties in both office and production plant environments.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. as needed.
- Must maintain regular and punctual attendance in alignment with company and regulatory standards.
- Must be able to communicate clearly.
Working Conditions:
- Split work environment between office and the production facility.
- Work may involve extended periods of working in the production facility.
- Ability to work in challenging working conditions which may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes, while protected by PPE, for extended periods of time.
- Work hours will be as follows:
- From current time until Q4 of 2025, the expectation will be 40-hour weeks, M-F, in-office. The work during this timeframe will encompass design and planning work.
- From Q4 2025 onward, the work weeks will pivot to shift work. The current plan for shifts are as follows:
- A-Shift: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM | Sun–Tues (every other Wed)
- B-Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM | Sun–Tues (every other Wed) | 10% differential
- C-Shift: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM | Thurs–Sat (every other Wed)
- D-Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM | Thurs–Sat (every other Wed) | 15% differential
- May require occasional work weekends or alternate shifts to support production needs as needed.
The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
