Electrician Forman
Redwood Materials is looking for a motivated and accomplished Low Voltage Electrician Forman to join the Construction team to work on all phases of our industrial construction projects. This will include new construction as well as retrofitting existing operational facilities. Skills in all areas of low voltage electrical are not necessarily required, but the job can and will involve a variety of network and low voltage electrical disciplines and a strong candidate will be able to perform a variety of low voltage electrical tasks from installing, terminating, troubleshooting, and certifying copper twisted pair cables and fiber optic cables. Along with trade skills the candidate must also supervise a team of low voltage electricians and low voltage electricians in training. The candidate must have the ability to clearly communicate with different groups of the organization. They must have prior project management skills.
Responsibilities will include:
- Oversee and coordinate the activities of low voltage electricians, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and Redwood Materials cabling standards. Maintaining and troubleshooting various types of network and low voltage electrical components.
- Plan, schedule, and manage the execution of low voltage electrical installations, ensuring compliance with project specifications and deadlines.
- Consulting manuals, reading and interpreting diagrams, P&IDs, blueprints, and schematics.
- Inspect installations for compliance with national, local electrical codes, ANSI, TIA, and BICSI standards to ensure safety and functionality.
- Clear communication with project managers, contractors, and clients to communicate project progress, changes, and challenges.
- Mentor and train low voltage electricians in training.
- Use Wrike to manage progress, material, updates, equipment, and completion of job scopes.
- Use project site to submit RFI’s and access prints.
- Use JIRA to submit and track permits to work for each individual building.
- Use Microsoft forms to track the team’s hours.
- Performing a wide variety of job scopes.
- Displaying a positive attitude and practicing good work ethics reflects the mission, philosophy, and goals of the company.
- Completing tasks in a timely manner and providing feedback to internal teams.
- Construct accurate estimates including material, time, and equipment.
- Order material internally
Desired Qualifications:
- Must have a minimum of 5+ years of Low Voltage Electrician Forman level or higher experience in industrial or commercial settings.
- Knowledge in using hand tools, electrical meter, and testing equipment.
- Efficient in leading a team installing low voltage electrical systems.
- Experienced in handling copper and fiber optic systems.
- Experience in other electrical fields is a plus.
- Strong knowledge in installing and troubleshooting CAT6 and fiber optic cable systems a plus.
- Ability to interpret telecom prints.
- Ability to produce parts lists and work plans based off drawings or field walks and routing.
- Ability to produce as-built drawings for work performed.
- Ability to test and commission all work per Redwood Materials procedures and building department code.
- Ability to complete job scopes outside of normal core competencies as required.
- Strong working knowledge of job site safety with the ability to thoroughly evaluate job hazards and complete pre-work task planning with an emphasis on identifying electrical hazards and proper safety procedures.
- Ability to work in high elevation up to 60 ft. high.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills, along with the ability to interact with all levels of management; must have a high degree of initiative, and the ability to work alone and effectively with other people

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 100 lbs.
- Must be able to bend, lift, and carry objects over 50 lbs..
- Must be able to walk up and down stairs carrying weight.
- Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
Working Conditions:
- Environment, such as office or outdoors and inclement weather conditions.
- Exposures encountered, such as hazardous materials, loud noise, fires, or extreme heat/cold.
- Essential physical requirements, such as climbing, standing, stooping, or typing.
- Required to work weekends, nights, or be on-call as a regular part of the job.
The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
