In this position, you will be responsible for the development, testing, deployment and continuous improvement of our machine learned models for Prediction. As founding member of our in-house prediction effort, you will be responsible for helping to set the technical direction including how we formulate the problem, the architectures used, and how we integrate it in the broader autonomy stack. You’ll interface closely with the Perception and Planning teams as you do so. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in machine learning for Prediction for autonomous vehicles or related technology and will have a proven track record of being able to deliver to production.
- \nBuild the prediction stack that supports Rivian’s autonomy features now and in the future. \n \n
- \nDesign models from the ground up with an eye on run-time performance and prediction quality. \n \n
- \nOptimize prediction for accuracy and reliability in complex merging and high traffic scenarios. \n \n
- \nWork across teams to define and lead ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) feature sets. \n \n
- \nCollaborate with Validation and Systems to define and monitor key metrics leading prediction design. \n \n
- \n5+ years of robotics, AV (Autonomous Vehicle), or other real-time, safety-critical experience \n \n
- \nBS, MS or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, or other relevant Engineering disciplines. \n \n
- \nRecent, hands-on experience with state-of-the-art modeling for prediction including Transformers \n \n
- \nAbility to build solutions from first principles \n \n
- \nStrong software engineering experience in Python and/or C++ \n \n
- \nExperience building ML pipelines and managing data quality \n \n
- \nEffective communication and collaborative \n \n
Salary Range for California Based Applicants: [$205,000.00 - $236,000.00] (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).\n
