Role Summary
The Service Lab technician will be responsible for overdelivering on all service procedure validations, time studies and tool and equipment validations. We look for world-class technicians at the top of their game. We work with service engineering and the technical publications teams to help create and write the factory service manual for Rivian. We also perform all service time studies for accurate scheduling and customer pay/insurance billing at the service centers. This role will require a highly skilled technician with excellent communication skills, both verbally and written. We also work cross-functionally with all engineering teams on special projects and product improvement. You will always maintain a high level of professionalism as we will regularly interact with directors, VP’s and even the CEO. You will need to be comfortable in public settings supporting confidential and public events. To be successful in this role you must collaborative with others and always maintain an extremely positive attitude and great work ethic.
Responsibilities

- Support creation of technical publications for all service manuals (systems overview, parts, repair, labor, electrical, etc.) \n
- Validate repair procedures for accuracy (diagnosis, repair process, labor time, safety, etc.) \n
- Improve efficiency in service procedures without compromising quality and safety of the repair \n
- Validate all service tooling prior to implementation to the field \n
- Support campaigns and containment initiatives \n
- Provide ad hoc service support to the field to support the Service organization, including customer facing events \n
- Work with a collaborative attitude and team spirit in an ever-changing, dynamic environment \n
- Support cost analyst impact on different serviceability methods and processes \n
- Support cross functional teams and assist with pre-production vehicle builds \n
- Provide ad hoc service support to the field to support the Service organization \n
- Support and proactively collaborate with Service Engineering, Field Service, Technical Publications, Service Parts, and Service Training teams \n
- Use 1st principals to collaborate, teach, and mentor other team members to constantly improvement the Service organization \n
Qualifications
- \n
- Ability to travel at a minimum of 50% and up to 75% \n
- Automotive Technology/Technician Degree or equivalent experience \n
- 5+ years of automotive experience \n
- 4+ years of EV experience \n
- OEM Certified Master Technician is a plus \n
- OEM Specific Technician Training is a plus \n
- Ability to drive non-commercial truck and trailer \n
- Must possess a valid driver’s license \n
- Experience working in start-up environments \n
- Knowledge of EV Powertrains and HV systems \n
- Strong diagnostics experience \n
- Strong written and communications skills \n
- Strong organization skills with attention to detail \n
- No drug or alcohol related driving incidents in the last 3 years \n
- No more than 1 serious moving violation in the last 3 years \n
- Physical exertion may be required to perform occupational tasks (sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, carrying, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs) \n
- Frequent use of hands for purposes of grasping and using tools correctly, entering data, writing communications, or calling customers or internal partners \n
- Must have a valid driver's license in the state of residence that you will be driving/operating a vehicle \n
- Will be subject to continuous Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) monitoring \n
Pay Disclosure
Salary Range/Hourly Rate for California Based Applicants: $40.85 - 47.10hr (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).

Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
