Role Summary
The Future Programs team exists to expand the definition of Electric Adventure Vehicle with new products and ecosystem solutions. We are specifically focused on addressing local transportation and the outsized impact towards Keeping the World Adventurous Forever that comes with disrupting short, high emission trips. Together, in collaboration with controls and EE integration & test engineers, this role will be responsible for architecting and executing test infrastructure, developing DVP&R strategies with product design teams and commissioning component/subsystem/assembly design validation tests. Additionally, this position will be involved with product prototype builds, modifications and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities

- \nWork with product design teams to identify testing requirements \n \n
- \nDevelop specifications for test infrastructure required to perform product validation testing \n \n
- Generate proposals for make vs. buy decisions related to test infrastructure \n
- In “make” scenarios, design and commission test equipment conduct product development testing \n
- Integration of metrology (sensors) elements into prototypes and/or test platforms \n
- Efficiently and effectively operate test infrastructure in support of product development testing \n
- Build support hardware (wire harnesses, fixtures, reference metrology, etc.) necessary to perform testing tasks \n
- When integration issues arise, quickly and effectively debug mechanical motion systems or test infrastructure elements (actuators, motors, DAQs, controllers, etc.) to maximize system utility \n
- Post process test data and present findings to product design teams and leadership \n
- Provide feedback to product design teams during evaluation phases, component selection, component validation testing and subsystem validation testing phases of the product design cycle \n
- Own the upkeep, modification and capability expansion of test infrastructure systems \n
- Train technicians and test engineers on the proper use of test infrastructure systems \n
- Work collaboratively with cross functional personnel \n \n
Qualifications
- \n
- \n6+ years of applicable industry experience performing machine design and configuring product validation testing \n \n
- \nStrong familiarity with precision test equipment, motion systems, metrology selection and data acquisition \n \n
- Proficiency in hands-on mechanical integration, assembly, troubleshooting and documentation of mechanical and electromechanical systems \n
- Familiarity with product requirement definition and tracking tools \n
- Basic knowledge of electrical harness fabrication techniques and the ability to build & quality test basic electrical harnesses in support of integration and test activities \n
- Comfortable working in a small-team environment where individuals are expected to fill the needs of multiple roles to ensure program success \n
- Understanding of mechanical & electrical safety measures and comfortable working around 1kW+ power supplies, batteries, power transmission systems \n
- Track record of “continued learning”, clear communication, cross-collaboration and data-driven decision making \n
- Ability to clearly document and present project material to all levels of leadership \n
- Proficient with CAD (Catia preferrable) Matlab, and Microsoft Office products \n
- Minimum education: Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering or higher \n \n
Pay Disclosure
Salary Range/Hourly Rate for California Based Applicants: $163,000.00 - $188,000.00 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
