Rivian is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever. This goes for the emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles we build, and the curious, courageous souls we seek to attract.

As a company, we constantly challenge what’s possible, never simply accepting what has always been done. We reframe old problems, seek new solutions and operate comfortably in areas that are unknown. Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.
Role Summary
The team constantly tests and validates complex software systems on specially equipped test benches that receive data inputs from physical devices. HIL testing entails simulating vehicle and environmental inputs for the electronic control unit (ECU) under test, causing it to believe that it reacts to real-world driving conditions on the open road. The HIL bench contains all of the relevant vehicle components. A simulator presents inputs to actual devices, which send signals to the system under test to see whether it responds correctly to the inputs.
