    Responsibilities

      \n
    • Design and develop custom electronic test equipment to support validation, end of line, and production testing of inverters, on board chargers, DC fast chargers, and other inhouse electrical products.
    • \n
    • Document test equipment designs via electrical wiring schematics such as AutoCAD electrical
    • \n
    • Work closely with the engineering project teams to ensure test equipment designs align with the software and hardware requirements.
    • \n
    • Participate in design reviews, requirement reviews, DFMEAs, PFMEAs and Hazard Analyses.
    • \n
    • Direct activities of prototype build lab personnel during fabrication of the test equipment.
    • \n
    • Develop test procedures defining specific test setup requirements and instructions.
    • \n
    • Perform data analysis and generate reports.
    • \n
    • Utilize standard electronic test equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators and power analyzers.
    • \n
    • Use sensors such as thermocouples, RTDs, strain gauges, accelerometers, pressure gauges, and flow meters.
    • \n
    • Support technical root cause analysis and resolution of issues found during testing.
    • \n

    Qualifications

      \n
    • S. in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
    • \n
    • 2+ years’ experience designing test equipment for high voltage power electronics or high voltage battery chargers.
    • \n
    • Ability to create schematics using design software tools such as AutoCAD Electrical and Altium.
    • \n
    • Familiarity with modular test instruments and National Instruments I/O Systems (PXI, cDAQ)
    • \n
    • Knowledge of and experience with computer hardware, communication, and bus protocols (RS232, CAN, GPIB, Ethernet, USB).
    • \n
    • Hands-on experience with diagnosing and troubleshooting complex issues with minimal supervision
    • \n
    • Familiarity with environmental test set ups and test error proofing.
    • \n
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced development environment.
    • \n
    • Self-motivated: Demonstrated ability to set direction and guide the team towards it.
    • \n
    • Experience designing circuit board assembly functional test equipment preferred
    • \n
    • PCB design experience preferred
    • \n
    • Basic programming knowledge (Python, C, LabVIEW) is a plus.

    Pay Disclosure

      \n
    • Salary Range/Hourly Rate for California Based Applicants: $121,000 - $139,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
    • \n
    • Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.

    • Design and develop custom electronic test equipment to support validation, end of line, and production testing of inverters, on board chargers, DC fast chargers, and other inhouse electrical products.

    Qualifications

    • S. in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
    • 2+ years’ experience designing test equipment for high voltage power electronics or high voltage battery chargers.
    • Ability to create schematics using design software tools such as AutoCAD Electrical and Altium.
    • Familiarity with modular test instruments and National Instruments I/O Systems (PXI, cDAQ)
    • Knowledge of and experience with computer hardware, communication, and bus protocols (RS232, CAN, GPIB, Ethernet, USB).
    • Hands-on experience with diagnosing and troubleshooting complex issues with minimal supervision
    • Familiarity with environmental test set ups and test error proofing.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced development environment.
    • Self-motivated: Demonstrated ability to set direction and guide the team towards it.
    • Experience designing circuit board assembly functional test equipment preferred
    • PCB design experience preferred
    • Basic programming knowledge (Python, C, LabVIEW) is a plus.

    Pay Disclosure

    • Salary Range/Hourly Rate for California Based Applicants: $121,000 - $139,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
    • Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
