Role Summary
- In this role you will be responsible for providing guidance to the product development and Color Materials and Finishes (CMF) teams on textiles, fabrics, and coated textiles!
Responsibilities
- \n
- Lead soft trim prototyping and development with product development teams. \n
- Complete engineering approval of program materials as part of the Materials Engineering Validation (MEV) process. \n
- Author Rivian Materials Standards (RMS) and Rivian Testing Specifications (RTS). \n
- Lead advanced materials development with a focus on sustainability initiatives, improved durability and cleanability. \n
- Drive root cause analysis for ongoing production issues related to materials, working directly with Tiers and Materials Vendors. \n
- Provide materials modeling inputs for digital validation. \n
- Work in conjunction with Supplier Quality Engineering and Purchasing teams for supplier development. \n
Qualifications
- \n
- B.S. in Material Sciences, Mechanical Engineering or a related field with 5+ years (preferred) of materials development. \n
- Or M.S. in Materials Sciences, Mechanical Engineering or a related field with 3+ years of materials development. \n
- Multi-disciplined experiences in automotive plastics, metals, polymeric films, textiles, composites, and natural fibers are a plus. \n
- Proven experience with handling multiple complex projects simultaneously. \n
- First-class communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively across multiple sites & time zones to a wide range of audiences. \n
- A demonstrated ability to solve problems using a first-principles approach. \n
- Very organized and detail oriented in documentation, report writing, and data cross functional data management. \n
- An eagerness to work cross-functionally in a dynamic environment. \n
- Sound commercial and financial awareness. \n
- Microsoft Office suite proficiency. \n
Pay Disclosure
Salary Range for California-Based Applicants: $121,000 - $139,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, and other factors permitted by law).
