Role Summary
The model build team is responsible for delivery of all CAE models to our structural attribute teams. The model build manager ensures all deliverables of the team are met and team structure and resource are in place to deliver. Including:

- \nConstruct and maintain high-quality FEA models for all structural simulations, including crash, NVH, durability, closures, and other simulations. \n \n
- Ensure the CAE Model is of high quality and kept up-to-date with the latest engineering CAD releases and in-house modeling guidelines. \n
- \nFollow work plans for significant milestone evaluations about CAE model creation and update systems/subsystems models accordingly. Ensure quality and on-time delivery of master models at major checkpoints.\n \n
- Developing and improving workflows and processes to increase efficiency, improve quality and reduce timing. \n
- Financial awareness to ensure the outsourcing model continues to deliver value for Rivian. \n \n
Responsibilities
As team lead you will be responsible for all aspect of planning, management, and delivery of this team.

Manage the internal and external teams to deliver all model build activities
\nEnsure the appropriate levels of resource and skills are available to maintain timing and quality to support our engineering teams. Maintain a work request database to track open project requirements and planned builds to prioritize future workflows.
\n

Drive continuous improvement in our process by liaising with attribute teams to maintain best practice guidelines for the modelling teams. Monitor issues and delays with existing deliveries and update processes to prevent recurrences. Review correlation activities within the attribute teams to collect learning and incorporate this into best practice guidelines.
\nStreamline our model build process by identifying synergies in the models required for each attribute team.
\nCapture feedback from our offshore team regarding issues with CAD quality to guide CAD readiness reviews for future builds.
\nDevelop plans to offshore standardized analysis activities, for new model builds, to enable the onshore team to focus on detailed engineering solutions.
\nIdentify opportunities for automation and work with the whole team to implement these in a robust fashion.

Integrate model delivery with our simulation database tool.
\nReduce cost and time to deliver whilst improving quality.

Qualifications
- \n
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience
\n2 - 5 years in a role with similar responsibilities or as subsystem CAE lead.
\n
- \n
Skilled with simulation data management systems and PLM.
\nHighly experienced in CAE model build for Automotive components / subsystems / full vehicles
\nProficient in CATIA and Beta CAE products is a must; skills in using Oasys Primer, LS-PrePost, Altair Hyperworks and other CAE pre-and post-processors are highly desired
\nProficient in LS Dyna / Optistruct / Abaqus/ ADAMS and practical understanding for NVH/Durability/Crash simulation are highly desired
\nAutomation Development and Scripting using Python are preferred.

Good knowledge of EV and Automotive Structures, FEM and understanding of engineering fundamentals
\nExcellent communication skills to ensure customer needs are understood and expressed clearly to support teams.
\nStrong planning, management, and delivery skills to ensure customer satisfaction.

Pay Disclosure
Salary range for California Based Applicants: $168,000-$193,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
