Role Summary
As a Sr. Test Engineer, you will be responsible for seeking viable solutions to remanufacture products in battery, drive unit/inverter and chargers. The Sr. Test Engineer will have the chance to develop customized testing procedures and oversee projects from design for remanufacturing, production set up, and equipment validation. The Sr. Test Engineer will collaborate with Design Responsible Engineers (DRE), Reliability, and Service Warranty to help influence design, manufacturing, and serviceability of remanufactured products. The Sr. Test Engineer will be based out of our Shepherdsville, KY facility and reports directly to an Engineering Manager.
Responsibilities

- Collaboration with Remanufacturing and Plant Engineers to ensure a coordinated approach to testing and validation \n
- Coordinates and performs tests at the quality control stage of the remanufacturing process. \n
- Gathers and studies information regarding materials and components to be used in production. \n
- Regularly create coherent and informative reports and communicate findings across various levels of the business \n
- Drafts proposals for testing programs and operating procedures; outlines the specific testing conditions to be applied. \n
- Tests new products; develops systems to gather digital data during testing. \n
- Collate and manage data that will form the body of various technical reports and statistics \n
- Studies the data gathered during testing and evaluates the validity of the results. \n
- Partner with the Remanufacturing and cross-functional teams to develop new methodologies to keep Rivian at the forefront of the industry. \n
- Identifies any problems with new products; makes adjustments or recommendations to resolve problems. \n
- Continues testing and analysis until results are within product requirements and specifications. \n
- Be an active participant in technical meetings to ensure the team is adequately represented \n
- Drafts detailed technical reports to present findings; based on findings, recommends modifications needed to correct production problems. \n
- Develop battery tests in coordination with on- and offsite DRE’s and Jama documented performance requirements \n
- Develops ongoing quality control testing procedures to be incorporated into the regular production process. \n
- Assist in automating management of all test results, including overall performance and failure analysis \n
- Perform other duties as assigned, requested, and needed \n
Qualifications
- \n
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in computer science/Engineering or related field \n
- 3+ years’ experience in product development, automotive preferred \n
- 3+ years’ experience in a testing lab space (internship acceptable) \n
- 3+ years’ experience in programming (Python, SQL, LabVIEW or other relevant language) \n
- 3+ years’ experience working with High Voltage equipment such as EV batteries, DC Fast Chargers, or other Power Electronics \n
- 1-3 years’ experience with Enerchron, NHR, NI, or similar \n
- Foundational knowledge of engineering first principles \n
- Thorough communication skills, written and verbal \n
- Proven effective time management and problem solving skills \n
- Experience with Atlassian tools (JAMA, JIRA) \n
