Role Summary
Launch Program Management is a cross functional role that ties together product development and operations organizations to bring new products to life. In this role, you will partner with the design engineering, supply chain, operations, production control, and manufacturing engineering teams as we design, build, and Launch Rivian’s Battery products. This will include driving readiness for and then leading initial prototype builds though start of production, ensuring that all Operations functions are ready to deliver high quality products to our customers at rate.
Responsibilities

- Participate in and lead various cross-functional Program and Manufacturing Readiness forums. Provide clear updates on status and recovery plans as necessary at both working and executive level for Battery builds. \n
- Plan, organize, and orchestrate all pre-launch build activities. Facilitate ramp management with operations teams, identify all needed activities and coordinate the execution and risk mitigation of those activities. \n
- Build planning – creation of build plans based on organizational requirements – and then maintaining the plan by chairing planning meetings, analyzing material risks, and navigating tradeoffs when conflicts in demand arise. \n
- Lead the operations readiness workstream, ensuring we meet target objectives and escalate/develop recovery plans as needed. Interact, integrate, and drive results across cross-functional teams in engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, production, production control, service, etc. \n
- Author project status, summary, and issue resolution tracking reports \n
Qualifications
- \n
- BA/BS in Engineering, Masters preferred \n
- 6+ years experience in production or engineering environment, with experience launching products from prototype into series production \n
- Experience in design, development and manufacturing of battery modules and packs \n
- Production Operations Knowledge - Has a firm understanding of how complex production lines operate including production control, material handling, supply chain, quality, and production team. \n
- Background in manufacturing or industrial engineering or supply chain highly desired, especially with high tech/sw-enabled electromechanical products. \n
- Understanding of how the manufacturing validation process runs in relation to complex new products that stretch across various engineering teams and manufacturing centers/factories (methodology, validation plans, associated KPIs) \n
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. \n
- Team player; ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-cultural environment with cross-functional teams \n
