    Role Summary

    This position will lead the Suspension team across all vehicle lines. The team comprises of Design and Release Engineers, with various level of experience, who are responsible for the tuning components of the suspension (Dampers, Springs (coil, air, leaf), Rubber Isolators, Anti Roll Bars, Suspension Bushings, Hydraulic Suspension Components and Pipes).  


    Responsibilities

      \n
    • Define, together with the team and the program managers, the tasks for the individual DREs.
    • \n
    • \nDefine priorities for the team to meet program deliveries:
        \n
      • 2D and 3D geometry release with an appropriate level of maturity for Virtual Builds
      • \n
      • Kick off suppliers to support all the build phases.
      • \n
      • Coordinate virtual analysis and validation for the components.
      • \n
      • Define and plan supplier component tests.
      • \n
      \n
    • \n
    • Guide and support the team to make sure the best engineering practices are implemented.
    • \n
    • Liaise with the Vehicle Dynamics Team and with the R&D team to define technology road map.
    • \n
    • Cooperate with the Reliability team to generate DFMEA and Development Plans
    • \n
    • Ensure full Durability performance is delivered.
    • \n
    • Manage components and systems Suppliers.
    • \n
    • Create and develop engineering specification packages that effectively communicate to internal and external partners to ensure products meet given project parameters.
    • \n
    • Work together with the Concept and Package team to define the appropriate architecture for future vehicles to accommodate the suspension technology road map.
    • \n
    • Define Roles and Responsibilities in the team.
    • \n
    • Define and maintain a career development plan for each team member.
    • \n

    Qualifications

      \n
    • Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in automotive or mechanical engineering required
    • \n
    • 10+ years of experience in Chassis
    • \n
    • Good knowledge of suspension dampers and hydraulic principles
    • \n
    • Ability to communicate with clear and effective presentations.
    • \n
    • People managing experience and leadership skills.
    • \n
    • Ability to define guidelines for other engineers.
    • \n

    Pay Disclosure

    Salary range for California Based Applicants: $189,000-$217,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).

    Role Summary

    This position will lead the Suspension team across all vehicle lines. The team comprises of Design and Release Engineers, with various level of experience, who are responsible for the tuning components of the suspension (Dampers, Springs (coil, air, leaf), Rubber Isolators, Anti Roll Bars, Suspension Bushings, Hydraulic Suspension Components and Pipes).  


    Responsibilities

    • Define, together with the team and the program managers, the tasks for the individual DREs.

    • Ability to define guidelines for other engineers.

    Pay Disclosure

    Salary range for California Based Applicants: $189,000-$217,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).

     

    Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
