Role Summary
In this position, you will be responsible for enabling software-in-the-loop for a vehicle model predicting different vehicle attributes such as range & efficiency, performance, vehicle dynamics, thermal behavior, etc. You will be the primary point of contact from the vehicle modeling team to control teams, establishing the connection between different vehicle software and the vehicle plant model.
Responsibilities

- Integrate vehicle software into the vehicle model. \n
- Automate integration processes to minimize human interactions in a way that newer versions of the software are automatically accessible by the vehicle platform. \n
- Convert software into FMUs (functional mockup units) for runtime optimization. \n
- Create recipes from software algorithms of the main controllers and communicate them to other team members to create simple controllers mirroring those algorithms. \n
- Work closely with control teams to enable their optimization needs in an integrated vehicle model which allows for tuning of controllers’ parameters. \n
Qualifications
- \n
- 3+ years of professional experience in a related engineering field \n
- MSc or PhD in engineering or computer science \n
- Excellent programming skills in Matlab, Python, C/C++, etc. \n
- Prior experience with system-level simulation platforms such as Matlab Simulink, Gamma-Technologies GT-SUITE, Siemens Amesim, IPG CarMaker, etc. \n
- Prior experience with software-in-the-loop (SIL) implementation \n
- Prior experience with Agile software development practices such as JIRA, Confluence, Git, etc. \n
- Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills \n
- Capable of working well with multi-disciplinary teams \n
- Self-motivated individuals who are able to work with minimal supervision, from planning to implementation \n
- Eager to explore new solutions \n
- Detailed-oriented \n
Pay Disclosure
Salary range for California Based Applicants: $135,000-$155,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).

Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
