    Role Summary

    The Lead EHS Specialist (Construction) will be responsible and provide onsite management of the construction of Rivian’s future manufacturing site in Social Circle, Georgia. This role will report to the Sr. Manager, Environment, Health, & Safety (EHS) for Launch and Special Projects while also working with other functional groups within the larger EHS team, along with internal departments, and contractors. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and can communicate regulations effectively to a variety of groups with diverse interests and backgrounds. The ideal profile in this position should be able to work in a fast-paced, multi-cultural, and team-oriented environment.


    Responsibilities

      \n
    • Manage and oversee the environmental, health and safety compliance of construction projects.
    • \n
    • Influence teams and drive toward shared goals and objectives.
    • \n
    • Ability to plan, coordinate, and provide leadership with updates in the execution of complex, fast-paced and/or unorthodox construction projects.
    • \n
    • Solve problems while maintaining a high level of attention to detail while engaging others.
    • \n
    • Employ an extensive knowledge of standards and regulatory requirements to assure compliance and proactive management of risk.
    • \n
    • Interact with regulatory authorities to promote safety and resolve any issues of non-compliance.
    • \n
    • Manage contractors to ensure compliance with Rivian Safety and regulatory requirements.
    • \n
    • Manages, inspects, and evaluates the environmental, health, and safety protection for Rivian’s worksite to ensure compliance with government regulations and industry standards.
    • \n
    • Monitor environmental, health, and safety compliance at the project level by conducting workplace inspections and audits including those of contract operations and subcontractors.
    • \n
    • Identify leading indicators for use as KPI’s/metrics that are useful to stakeholders both inside and outside of the organization.
    • \n
    • Clearly communicate company requirements and expectations internally and externally with contractors.
    • \n
    • Drive multiple high priority initiatives at the same time.
    • \n
    • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
    • \n
    • Support Rivian safety vision and comply with all safety rules, policies, and procedures.
    • \n
    • Assist in the development of internal policies, standards, templates, forms, communications, training content, and other written work products.
    • \n

    Qualifications

      \n
    • Minimum of 7 years of construction safety experience and management experience
    • \n
    • Numerous years of experience leading teams and intenrational construction is preferred.
    • \n
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental, Health & Safety, Construction Management or similar is preferred.
    • \n
    • Working knowledge of U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations and state plans as applicable.
    • \n
    • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Construction Health and Safety Technologist (CHST) or other recognized industry professional certification is preferred.
    • \n
    • Experience with ISN database and/or Benchmark (Contractor Management Module).
    • \n
    • Experience implementing EHS framework and programming.
    • \n
    • Ability to understand written procedures and apply regulatory and consensus standards to situations in multiple work environments.
    • \n
    • Excellent decision-making skills and attention to detail.
    • \n
    • \nThe successful candidate will have proven leadership and subject matter expertise within the following areas:

    Role Summary

    The Lead EHS Specialist (Construction) will be responsible and provide onsite management of the construction of Rivian’s future manufacturing site in Social Circle, Georgia. This role will report to the Sr. Manager, Environment, Health, & Safety (EHS) for Launch and Special Projects while also working with other functional groups within the larger EHS team, along with internal departments, and contractors. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and can communicate regulations effectively to a variety of groups with diverse interests and backgrounds. The ideal profile in this position should be able to work in a fast-paced, multi-cultural, and team-oriented environment.


    Responsibilities

    • Manage and oversee the environmental, health and safety compliance of construction projects.
