Role Summary
As the Body Structures Technical Program Manager, you will have the responsibility of delivering your project body structures components to market within the assigned cost, weight, and timing as coordinated with the program development team.
Responsibilities

- Work within a matrix organization to ensure delivery of Body Structures systems through the complete Rivian Development Process \n
- Work within the Body Structures & Closures Technical Program Management Team to ensure the delivery of the vehicle Body Structures on current and future production vehicles \n
- Lead the development and management of tracking systems for key performance metrics such as issue management, change management, cost, mass, timing, perceived quality, and feature functionality \n
- Lead and coordinate issue resolution to present to the Body Structures & Closures leadership and Vehicle level teams \n
- Work closely with key functional departments in the organization to work toward a common goal (Purchasing, Manufacturing, Finance, Quality, other PD functions) \n
- Help ensure all Body Structures components meet the vehicle requirements and assist engineers with solving and managing cross-functional issue \n
- Key point of contact for Body Structures, supporting engineers and the plant to ensure issues are identified, escalated when needed, root cause analyses are completed, and resolutions are implemented \n
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional issue resolution (RCs), change management (CRs/CAs), deviations (Concessions), and larger program changes (PCCRs) \n
- Assist in the development of the overall Engineering schedule including, but not limited to, supplier sourcing, surface release timing, engineering release, tooling lead times and part quality maturation lead times \n
- Assist in the development and implementation of plans to ensure on-time delivery of parts to Mule and pre-production builds, establishing and implementing recovery plans as needed \n
- Ensure program imperatives (piece cost, tooling, ED&D, mass etc.) are cascaded, communicated, reported, and achieved at every stage of the project \n
- Ensure the Body Structures team works to a common standard & template for the development of all technical specifications, DVP&Rs and DFMEAs \n
- Champion simultaneous engineering across the business, ensuring all stakeholders are involved in timely decision making to support on-time engineering release \n
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to identify cross functional interdependencies and ensure on-time project delivery, establishing and implementing recovery plans as needed \n
- Lead cross-functional issue resolution on-site at launch locations \n
- Exhibit “Rivian Compass” in everything you do \n
Qualifications
- \n
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent technical degree \n
- 5+ years’ experience of Automotive product development, ideally experiencing at least 1 vehicle launch. \n
- Basic knowledge in operating CAD systems, preference towards CATIA experience \n
- Detailed knowledge of the automotive design and development process, system requirements, and general engineering best practices \n
- The ability to multitask with multiple tasks & projects to meet tight deadlines \n
- First-class communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively across multiple sites & time zones \n
- Comfortable presenting both detailed and high-level information to a wide range of audiences \n
- Excellent time management skills \n
- Excellent commercial and financial awareness \n
- Basic knowledge of materials, processes, & technologies used to deliver Body Structures engineering content is preferred \n
- Over 3 years’ experience of leading a team of engineers to deliver Body engineering content. Ideally, across multiple disciplines within Body Engineering \n
- A system-based approach to design and development with the desire and curiosity to strive for continuous improvement \n
- A demonstrated ability to solve problems using a first-principal approach \n
- An eagerness to work cross-functionally in a dynamic environment \n
- Travel Requirements: As needed based on production support and priorities \n
Pay Disclosure
Salary Range for California-Based Applicants: $135,000 - $155,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, and other factors permitted by law).
