Role Summary
As a Global Supply Manager, Battery Capex, you will lead technical sourcing, commercial development, and industrialization of Rivian Capex Battery Module Manufacturing Supply Chain, increasing our internal build capabilities through smart, effective capex strategy creation and execution. This role is located at our Palo Alto office with a flexible office schedule and reports to Manager, Global Supply Management, Battery Capex.
Responsibilities
Managing industrial automation/equipment supplier development and strategic relationships:
\n- \n
- \nIdentify technologies, suppliers, assess capabilities, and create sourcing plans with Rivian stakeholders. \n \n
- \nBuild and maintain unique understanding of supply base, market conditions, and technology roadmaps. \n \n
- \nLead strategic sourcing events, supplier interfacing, and dispute resolutions of complex manufacturing issues. \n \n
- \nSteer contractual negotiations with suppliers executing Purchase Agreements and Statement of Works. \n

Support in timely and efficient Capex design, execution, and life cycle sustaining of new factories and equipment projects with manufacturing engineering partners and key cross-functional teams:

- \nDrive cost and commercial value negotiations with detailed data and specific content-based analysis. \n \n
- \nManage supplier and tiered supplier performance using first principles approach and key performance metrics. \n \n
- \n
- \nMonitor capex spend forecast (totals and timing) and risk with Rivian Finance team, including internal guidance to improve. \n \n
- \nWork closely alongside Program Management to support program requirements, ensure adherence to build performance milestones and track progress. \n \n
\n
Communicate directly with senior leadership team on key strategic supplier and technology-based decisions:
\n- \nCreate should-cost models to build program budgets with cross-functional teams. \n
- \n
- \nDrive commercial and business decisions with leadership, including establishing technology investments roadmaps \n \n
- \nExpand and support planning of Rivian’s global CapEx supplier footprint. \n \n
Qualifications
- \n3-5 years of experience in manufacturing, operations, or supply chain \n
- \n
- \nBachelor’s in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business. \n \n
- \nAnalytical skills, technical literacy, and attention to detail required to solve complex cross-functional issues. \n \n
- \nGood interpersonal and communications skills, high level of integrity and emotional IQ, excitement towards learning. \n \n
- \nExperience working and managing projects globally, and flexibility to travel. \n \n
- \nAbility to work independently, multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment. \n \n
- \n
- \nUnderstanding of the technology and supplier landscape in Battery and/or EV manufacturing a bonus \n \n
- \nProficiency in multiple languages also a bonus \n \n
