Role Summary
As a Sr. Manager Sustaining Reliability, you will manage a test lab and lead a team of Sustaining Reliability engineers and technicians to ensure the safe launch and ongoing reliability of the products we make in Normal.
Responsibilities

- \nDevelop a world class team of highly engaged engineers and technicians. \n \n
- \nManage a reliability test facilities and a team of engineers and technicians to execute reliability tests on products supplied to and produced in the Normal production facility. \n \n
- \nResearch and strategically implement vehicle, subsystem, component and coupon reliability testing and equipment to provide early detection of reliability issues during mass production through ongoing reliability testing, manufacturing validation testing, and environmental stress screen or burn in testing. \n \n
- \nDevelop test methods and equipment to execute them. \n \n
- \n
- \nWork with quality, manufacturing engineering, design engineering, and process engineering to ensure sustaining reliability; make recommendations to improve design and manufacturing processes. \n \n
- \nIdentification and prioritization of issues identified in reliability testing. \n \n
- \nOwn escalation and root cause analysis for failures identified in tests. \n \n
- \nEstablish data systems for continuous monitoring of articles under test and reporting results. \n \n
- \nCreate reports for test results and recurring overall program status reports for management review. \n \n
- \n
- \nClosed loop with field reliability team to ensure issues in field are captured in sustaining reliability program. \n \n
- \nCascade reliability risks from the design and DFMEA to process PFMEA and control plan. \n \n
- \nSupport development of Sustaining Reliability labs in future manufacturing facilities \n \n
- \nManage the team budget and create and defend business cases for new equipment, facilities spaces, and test plans. \n \n
Qualifications
\n
\n
- \n
- \n7+ years of experience managing a reliability test facility and leading teams, preferably in an automotive environment. \n \n
- \nOngoing Reliability Testing, Highly Accelerated Stress Screening and governing equations for different types of failure mechanisms \n \n
- \nUnderstanding of reliability statistics including Weibull Analysis. \n \n
- \n
- \nUnderstanding of physics of failure. \n \n
- \nRoot cause analysis techniques and demonstrated experience applying them \n \n
- \nExperience in establishing reliability requirements and test programs. \n \n
- \nExperience with deploying reliability testing guidelines. \n \n
- \nExperience developing custom test fixtures and testing plans. \n \n
- \n
- \nExperience leading cross function problem solving activities. \n \n
- \nExperience with statistical software for reliability, such as JMP or the ReliaSoft suite. \n \n
- \nExperience with facilitating FMEAs. \n \n
- \nUnderstanding of reliability concepts and applying data analysis to drive priorities. \n \n
