Role Summary
Rivian is seeking a Lead EHS Specialist (Training) for our manufacturing plant in Normal, Illinois. This role is responsible for identifying, developing and conducting environmental health and safety training for team members. The ideal candidate must be a self-motivated, coachable, growth-oriented individuals who possess the skills necessary to further develop and implement an EHS training program. They will join a team of EHS professionals who are subject matter experts and collaborate with them to ensure training of their programs are delivered across the plant.
Responsibilities

- Full time trainer to organize, develop/revise curriculum, schedule, and conduct environmental health and safety training for plant employees for both reoccurring and onboarding training. Rivian’s training program must comply with state and federal OSHA standards including but not limited to: Hazardous Material Management, Working at Heights, Hazardous Communication, Risk Assessment Program, Hot Work, Machine Guarding, Control of Hazardous Energy, Safe Access to Machinery, Incident Reporting, Powered Industrial Vehicles, Confined Space Entry. \n
- Maintain training records including controlled course material (as manuals, computer-based training, audio visual, and other training aids, and instructors’ guides), employee training completion, assessing training needs, evaluating training effectiveness. \n
- Work with EHS team members and Manufacturing operations team members to identify training needs and monitor compliance with OSHA regulations. \n
- Prepare for, organize and conduct hands-on, participatory health and safety training sessions that meet regulatory requirements and identify, prevent and address health and safety concerns. \n
- Achieve and maintain appropriate professional credentials and certifications including but not limited to train the trainer course, CPR, PIV and work at heights. \n
Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety, and Health, or related field required. \n
- 5-10 years of applicable experience to the responsibilities and qualifications of this role. \n
- Ability to work shift work to accommodate training for all three working shifts. \n
- Excellent communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills, including strong document production skills (proficiency in Word and Excel), and technical writing ability. \n
- Must have skills to be able to deliver of information to employees of all levels in written, spoken, and visual format. Must be comfortable speaking within small and large group settings such as tail gate or town hall meetings. \n
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills; with the ability to meet deadlines independently. \n
- Must have good working knowledge of Federal and State OSHA along with other employment regulatory divisions as it pertains to the safety and welfare of employees. \n
- Experience providing training to workers and adult learners, using popular education/interactive approaches. \n
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and/or in a team environment. \n
Certification to teach OSHA 10, OSHA 30 and HAZWOPER 40 is preferred.
\n- Competent skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and JIRA-Confluence, LMS \n
Automotive manufacturing experience in high volume fast-paced facility is preferred.
\n- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. \n
- The employee is occasionally required to walk, climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. \n
- The employee must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. \n
