Role Summary
- \n
- Plan, setup and execute vehicle testing including performance, durability, and fleet validation tests according to the vehicle and component DVP&R (Design Verification Plan and Report) \n
- Perform data analysis, control system data collection and calibration \n
- \nDiagnose vehicle hardware and software defects on engineering fleet vehicles and communicate findings to stakeholders (Reading DTCs, CAN signal analysis, ECU interface knowledge)\n \n
- Develop test methodology for, and oversee execution of component level, system level, and vehicle level test programs \n
- Transform high level observations into defined problem statements and execute investigations of product or process defects \n
- Create test documentation including test instructions, specifications, drawings and verification plans in a clear and concisely manner \n
- Support test trips from development teams taking place in Europe \n
- Ensure vehicle instrumentation is installed correctly and reporting accurately (thermocouples, strain gauges, accelerometers, and load transducers) \n
- Drive prototype vehicles in both public road and closed course environments to objectively and subjectively evaluate performance \n
Qualifications
- \n
- Master’s degree in engineering: Automotive, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or similar field \n
- Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals, vehicle systems, vehicle testing standards, and automotive testing instrumentation \n
- Strong data analysis and reporting experience \n
- Experience with CAN analysis tools such as Vector CANalyzer/ INCA etc. \n
- Experience with flashing ECUs or proprietary tools \n
- Ability to read wiring diagrams \n
- Experience driving prototype vehicles (Previous vehicle limit driving experience and certification is a plus) \n
- Experience with any of the following is a bonus: JAMA/JIRA/Confluence, GIT, Python/C (or other programming experience), ECU Calibration (Vector CANape, INCA) \n
- Experience with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) is a plus \n
- Experience with EU Regulatory requirements, Homologation testing, and Certification is a plus \n
- Language skills: English is a must, German highly appreciated \n
- Business travel required, occasionally with limited notice \n
