Role Summary
We are seeking a highly-skilled and experienced Senior Manufacturing IT Operations Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Manufacturing IT Operations Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the continuous operation of the Information Technology infrastructure running manufacturing systems and processes. You will work at the intersection of IT and manufacturing Operational Technology, using your technical expertise to optimize and maintain IT systems and processes to support manufacturing operations. You will work with a wide range of technologies including Linux and Windows operating systems, Inventory and asset management systems, project management systems, and service management systems. The ideal candidate will also possess strong communication skills.
Responsibilities

- Manage client-side IT systems and infrastructure used in manufacturing operations. \n
- Implement, maintain, and troubleshoot client-side IT equipment running manufacturing execution system workloads. \n
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improvement in the Manufacturing IT Operations service offering. \n
- Participate in risk mitigation and/or remediation for Manufacturing IT endpoints. \n
- Monitor, improve, and maintain inventory of spare IT equipment used to run manufacturing workloads. \n
- Work with procurement teams and vendors to acquire necessary hardware to support service, support, and project requirements. \n
- Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and cross functional teams to plan for client-side IT and OT hardware lifecycles. \n
- Make recommendations to ensure hardware standards are consistent with industry best practices. \n
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for manufacturing IT operations. \n
- Coordinate regularly scheduled manufacturing IT inventory audits and ensure alignment of target levels with business needs. \n
- Lead and mentor other manufacturing IT operations engineers in the department. \n
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend and implement relevant improvements. \n
- Determine scope of support and service on Manufacturing IT equipment between cross-functional teams including integration, automation, and manufacturing engineers. \n
- Participate in project meetings to ensure new IT hardware is aligned with our published standards, and to gather and fulfill requirements needed of the Manufacturing IT Operations team. \n
- Make recommendations and build consensus on changes to published hardware standards. \n
Qualifications
- \n
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience. \n
- Understanding of the OSI Model and Purdue Model and their applicable use. \n
- Strong understanding of Windows and Linux System administration. \n
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing IT operations. \n
- Proficiency with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and other manufacturing software applications. \n
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, including workstations, servers, and networking. \n
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues. \n
- Strong project management and leadership skills. \n
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices in a manufacturing environment. \n
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills. \n
