    Responsibilities

      \n
    • Represent Rivian in meetings with key policy makers at the federal level, including legislators, administration officials, and the various departments and agencies to promote Rivian and its electrification and transportation technology mission and EV solutions.
    • \n
    • Anticipate and influence new policies, legislation, regulations or procurement opportunities that may help or hinder Rivian’s mission and introduction of EVs generally.
    • \n
    • Cross functional work with various Rivian teams, including Legal, Corporate Strategy, Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, Communications, and others to ensure policies and laws maximize support for EVs, advanced transportation systems and supporting products, while ensuring impediments from such policies and laws are minimized.
    • \n
    • Support strategic planning and execution of policy and business initiatives to support Rivian’s specific goals and EVs generally.
    • \n
    • Work with contract lobbyists, third party organizations, and other stakeholders in support of Rivian’s policy objectives.

    Qualifications

      \n
    • A minimum of 5-8 years of direct policy experience on Capitol Hill or a federal agency
    • \n
    • A track record of superior accomplishment and ability.
    • \n
    • A nuanced understanding of electric vehicle policy, legislative procedure, government procurement, and regulatory processes with an ability to draft, read, understand, and work with statutes and regulations.
    • \n
    • Ability to work with autonomy in a fast-paced and dynamic atmosphere with the ability to work cooperatively with a diverse group of partners and stakeholders both internally and externally.
    • \n
    • Familiarity with policy levers affecting electric vehicles
    • \n
    • A strong work ethic and “can-do” spirit.
    • \n
    • Demonstrated ability to multi-task on diverse issues simultaneously
    • \n
    • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
    • \n
    • Bachelor’s degree or higher from a recognized & reputable educational institution (JD degree preferred but not required).
    • \n
    • Willingness to travel
    • \n
    • Highly Preferred:
        \n
      • Direct experience with electric vehicle policy and a sincere passion for vehicle electrification
      • \n
      • Familiarity with tax and/or trade policy affecting EVs and more broadly
      • \n
      • Demonstrated ability to work with and manage outside lobbyists, communications teams, and third-party organizations to support policy focused missions with a track record of success.
      • \n
      • Direct policy or procurement experience from the government perspective (i.e., knowing how the bureaucracy operates)
      • \n
      • Strong and demonstrable history of bipartisanship
      • \n

    Qualifications

    • A minimum of 5-8 years of direct policy experience on Capitol Hill or a federal agency
    • A track record of superior accomplishment and ability.
    • A nuanced understanding of electric vehicle policy, legislative procedure, government procurement, and regulatory processes with an ability to draft, read, understand, and work with statutes and regulations.
    • Ability to work with autonomy in a fast-paced and dynamic atmosphere with the ability to work cooperatively with a diverse group of partners and stakeholders both internally and externally.
    • Familiarity with policy levers affecting electric vehicles
    • A strong work ethic and “can-do” spirit.
