Role Summary
Professional, effective, and highly capable repair technician with more than 3 months to 1 year of experience troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing damage on BIW vehicles and to perform repair procedures on BIW or finished vehicles as instructed. This role will assist with line monitoring and fault recovery in assigned areas, reporting to an End of Line Group Leader
Responsibilities
BIW / Metal Repair:
\n- \n
- \nResponsible for grinding, filing, or sanding surfaces of metal fabricated products. Inspect and feel surfaces for any metal defects; Remove defects using hammer, dolly or power tools to finish off the polishing of the final product. \n \n
- \nHelp develop and implement repair procedures for non-compliant build conditions. \n \n
- \nFollows written/documented processes, procedures and activities. \n \n
- \nSupports achievement of all RIOS targets and continuous improvement activities. \n \n
Line Support / Equipment Recovery

- \nSupport Equipment uptime through line monitoring, Preventative maintenance and consumable support. \n \n
- \nUnderstand basic robot and equipment function and support fault reset activities and TPM. Analyze repetitive issues and work with support teams to eliminate. \n \n
General Support
\n- \n
- \nEnsures safety compliance and follow all rules. \n \n
- \nCommunicate and work with neighboring departments to resolve repetitive concerns. \n \n
- \nActively promote teamwork and problem solving in a proactive work environment. Support online production when needed \n \n
Qualifications
- \n
- \nMinimum 3mos to 1yr. experience with White Metal Repairs \n \n
- \nAbility to Mig weld steel and aluminum \n \n
- \nTig welding is a plus \n \n
- \nAble to detect and repair defects in BIW Metal (Metal Finish Unpainted Bodies) \n \n
- \nOperate a variety of hand and power tools (e.g. welder, soldering equipment, cutting torch, blocks, hammers, wrenches, sander, spray guns, etc.) \n \n
- \nCapable of fitting closures to meet Rivian Quality Standards \n \n
- \nExperience with measuring tools like Calipers, Micrometer and taper gages \n \n
- \nExperience in developing and maintaining inspection sheets according to the requirement \n \n
- \nMust be able to understand risk assessment and problem solving methods \n \n
- \nMust be able to manage safe launch or quality gates in the line \n \n
- \nTrack downtime, send shift reports, and other workstation documentation. \n \n
- \nCheck output of line to ensure highest quality is met \n \n
- \nRemove and install panels from body to perform repairs \n \n
- \nRepairs must meet Rivian Quality Standards (Required) \n \n
- \nMust be forklift certified \n \n
- \nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms. \n \n
- \nThe employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. \n \n
- \nAbility to do work on the production floor with exposure to dust, fumes, orders, loud noise, and varying temperatures. \n \n
- \nAbility to climb up/down ladders and stairs, negotiate uneven or moving surfaces, and work at varying heights. \n \n
