    Role Summary

    Senior Manager, EHS (Environmental) will be responsible for the development and successful operation for Rivian's future manufacturing site in Georgia. This position will report directly to the Director, EHS and will excel cross-functionally with numerous internal departments, and external government agencies. You will be responsible for managing, developing, leading, and sustaining environmental initiatives to support all areas of manufacturing at the Georgia manufacturing complex. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and can understand complex regulations and communicate them effectively to a variety of groups with diverse interests and backgrounds. The person in this position should be able to work in a fast-paced, multi-cultural, team-oriented environment with the ability to influence to ensure safe and environmentally responsible operations often without direct authority over cross-functional team members.


    Responsibilities

      \n
    • Manage and oversee the environmental compliance and best management practices for Rivian’s new manufacturing plant in Stanton Springs North, Georgia.
    • \n
    • Design, and recommend, solutions for environmental processes relating to Air Emissions, Wastewater Treatment or Waste Management.
    • \n
    • Influence teams and drive toward shared goals and objectives.
    • \n
    • Ensure that all applicable environmental compliance programs are in place and functioning properly for Georgia complex.
    • \n
    • Interfaces with clients and government officials on matters related to environmental regulatory compliance.
    • \n
    • Ensure applicable environmental related goals including leading indicators are set, tracked, and shared with the organization.
    • \n
    • Ensure a process is functioning such that all new equipment meets applicable environmental standards prior to production.
    • \n
    • Ensure environmental training applicable to each job within the completed according to schedule.
    • \n
    • Assure compliance with all applicable CAA, CWA, RCRA, NPDES, EPA, federal, state, local and health regulation requirements.
    • \n
    • Coach and influence all management staff including Operations, Engineering, and Facilities/Maintenance to integrate and manage environmental compliance consistent with all applicable risks.
    • \n
    • Ensure that necessary inspections of properties, people, and operations are carried out to evaluate environmental aspects and impacts.
    • \n
    • Continually create a culture of environmental incident-free attitudes using accountability, incident review processes and demonstration through example.
    • \n
    • Routinely works cross-functionally with other company leaders and departments.
    • \n
    • Experience with both construction and operational environmental requirements.
    • \n
    • Willingness to work extended or non-standard shifts, including weekends.
    • \n
    • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    Qualifications

      \n
    • Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization with a minimum of 7 years of EHS experience.
    • \n
    • A minimum of 7+ years with field experience and managing or overseeing personnel is required
    • \n
    • Certified Hazard Material Manager (CHMM) is preferred
    • \n
    • Relevant industry professional certifications preferred: Wastewater Operator, Stormwater Inspector, Construction Storm Water Operator 
    • \n
    • Proficient skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint.
    • \n
    • SAP & Benchmark ESG proficiency is preferred
    • \n
    • Manufacturing or Industrial Facility experience is required – Automotive experience is highly preferred
    • \n
    • Extensive and working knowledge of EPA regulations, with a working knowledge of DOT, hazardous materials, and Process Safety Management. Strong leadership, emotional intelligence, and management skills required.
    • \n
    • Knowledge of concepts, principles, practices and methodologies related to Air/Water/Waste requirements. And the ability to make decisions relating to long term site use plans and permitting. 
    • \n
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • \n
    • Problem solving skills in a high-pressure environment
    • \n
    • In the performance of the duties of this job, the employee is required to travel, drive a motor vehicle. Travel could be up to 30% of the time
    • \n
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. 
    • \n
    • The employee is occasionally required to walk, climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. 
    • \n
    • The employee must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus

    Role Summary

    Senior Manager, EHS (Environmental) will be responsible for the development and successful operation for Rivian's future manufacturing site in Georgia. This position will report directly to the Director, EHS and will excel cross-functionally with numerous internal departments, and external government agencies. You will be responsible for managing, developing, leading, and sustaining environmental initiatives to support all areas of manufacturing at the Georgia manufacturing complex. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and can understand complex regulations and communicate them effectively to a variety of groups with diverse interests and backgrounds. The person in this position should be able to work in a fast-paced, multi-cultural, team-oriented environment with the ability to influence to ensure safe and environmentally responsible operations often without direct authority over cross-functional team members.


    Responsibilities
