Role Summary
We are looking for a Data Scientist who will support our charging team and cross-functional partners through driving business planning, operational and product development decisions with predictive insights derived from the analysis of a wide range of high volume, high velocity, structured and unstructured data. The ideal candidate is adept at using large data sets to find opportunities for product and process optimization and using models to test the effectiveness of different courses of action. They must have strong experience using a variety of data mining/data analysis methods, using a variety of data tools, building and implementing models, using/creating algorithms and creating/running simulations.

They must have a proven ability to ingest business needs and drive business results with their data-based insights. They must be comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams. The right candidate will have a passion for discovering solutions hidden in large data sets and working with stakeholders to improve business outcomes.
Responsibilities
- \nMine and analyze data from multiple sources to drive optimization and improvement of product development and business strategies. \n

- \nAssess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques. \n \n
- \nLead development of new functionality incorporated into in-house simulation and optimization modeling suite \n \n
- \nUse predictive modeling to increase and optimize customer experiences, revenue generation, cost reductions and other business outcomes. \n \n
- \nBuild reliable, fast, and dynamic data tools, pipelines, and user-facing applications \n \n
- \nContextualize data into clear reporting dashboards for various stakeholder groups. \n \n
- \n
- \nMature exploratory data analysis projects into production-grade software. \n \n
- \nCoordinate with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes. \n \n
- \nWork with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions. \n \n
Qualifications
- \n
- \n1-3 years of experience manipulating data sets and building statistical models. \n \n
- \nBachelor’s, Master’s Or PhD In Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or another quantitative field. \n \n
- \nStrong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on product development. \n \n
- \nExcellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams. \n \n
- \nA drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques. \n \n
- \n
- \nExtensive experience developing data science software with Python and leveraging leading numerical and machine learning libraries including NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, and Plotly. \n \n
- \nExperience with cloud-based services including Databricks and AWS. \n \n
- \nFamiliarity with Linux, SQL, and Git. \n \n
- \nKnowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests and proper usage, etc.) and experience with applications. \n \n
- \nKnowledge and experience in machine learning techniques: GLM/Regression, Random Forest, Boosting, Trees, Bayesian Optimization, etc. \n \n

- \nExperience building user-facing applications using Plotly Dash. \n \n
- \nExperience with distributed data/computing tools: Spark, Databricks, etc. \n \n
- \nExperience with DBT. \n \n
- \nInterest in clean/renewable energy, electric vehicles, and charging. \n \n
- \nBackground in consulting, product or program management, technology, automotive, or energy. \n
Pay Disclosure
Salary range for California Based Applicants: $130,000-$150,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).

Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
