Role Summary
Execute yard and rail operations audits in accordance with AAR Standards. Audit securement processes on Truck, Rail, and Port Operations. Coordinate test loads as needed. Coordinate with Claims department to analyze damage data. The ideal candidate has extreme attention to detail and is relentless in execution and follow-up with audits and processes. Perseverance will be needed to overcome operational challenges and to set a course for process optimization. A collaborative spirit is essential to partner with stakeholders and align multiple teams across multiple locations.
Responsibilities

- Audit yard and rail operations in accordance with AAR Standards \n
- Perform quality holds analysis, including system conformity and efficient dwell times for VINS on hold \n
- Process audits on shipping practices for truck, rail, and ocean – may include field audits, i.e. railheads and ports. \n
- Assist Ad Hoc Manager in performing and reporting test loads on new equipment and vehicle models as new business demands arise \n
- Able to provide project status, summary, and issue resolution tracking reports \n
- Collaborate with Claims team to develop opportunities for quality control, including evaluating securement methods, spot auditing carriers, etc. \n
- Interact with carriers for in bay damage verification utilizing the AGIG damage codes \n
- Use damage data to identify frequencies and hot spots \n
- Collaborate with claims to generate and evaluate severity 3 damage reports \n
- Back-up to Ad Hoc team to assist with Ad Hoc shipments \n
- Develop, maintain, and improve the quality culture within the responsible area \n
- Maintain a strict adherence to the Standard Operating Procedures thereby
clearly identifying irregularities that may cause damage or inefficiency to the
process \n - Maintain accurate records of quality and/or safety audits and share with appropriate stakeholders \n
- Conduct safety audits observing at risk behavior followed by employee engagement. \n
- Work with team leaders to develop and improve quality/safety processes. \n
- Ability to develop and implement quality securement procedures and safety inspection procedures \n
- Assist in performing and teaching all internal stakeholders regarding quality and best practices for ensuring quality from leaving the factory to the customers’ hands \n
- Maintain open communication with internal and external stakeholders on processes and reports \n
- May perform other duties as assigned \n
- Proactively identify high-risk areas in the logistics cycle \n
Qualifications
- \n
- Bachelor’s degree \n
- 1 year of relevant experience \n
- Hands-on experience working with SAP, Transportation Management System (TMS), and/or yard management systems is preferred \n
- Hands-on experience performing quality or safety audits, including process improvement is preferred \n
- Experienced user in MS Excel – ability to create pivot tables and charts, use of shortcuts, and VLOOKUP functionality \n
- Six sigma experience and understanding preferred \n
- Ability to travel up to 5-10% of the time. \n
