Role Summary
As an OTA Test Automation Engineer you will be responsible for executing regular regression testing to ensure the quality of over the air software updates, maintaining software test suites, maintaining test automation infrastructure, and working cross functionally with teams around the company to address problems uncovered during testing.
Over the Air Updates are situated centrally within all domains of vehicle software, so OTA Test Automation Engineers will have the opportunity to work with many software domains in the vehicle and in the cloud to support buildout of test infrastructure and resolution behavioral regressions.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the quality of software components contributing to OTA as well as quality of the end to end product of OTA through automated testing
- Work with OTA systems and firmware engineers to convert requirements into automated test suites verifying behaviors within OTA
- Build and maintain dashboards and other reporting schema to easily track and report progress and quality of automated testing
- Build and maintain hardware and software test infrastructure to enable OTA regression testing across all product lines
- Triage regressions encountered during testing and work with stakeholders to resolve regressions
- Work with systems and firmware engineers on new feature and product bringup to ensure we have testing developed in parallel with core functions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or another related field
- Strong Python development background
- Working familiarity with Javascript and C++
- Experience with python test frameworks such as PyTest, Robot, Testify, etc..
- Experience with using requirements tools such as DOORS, JAMA, Polarion, etc..
- Experience working with contemporary web API architectures such as REST or GraphQL
- Experience with building and maintaining HIL, SIL, or Integration test systems
- Experience with requirements based test development
- Self-motivated with the ability to dive right in, develop effective processes, and work to ensure OTA quality
- Strong cross-functional experience with engineering, design and service/customer support
