Role Summary
As part of the Autonomy Systems Integration team, you will be fundamental in the successful development and deployment of Rivian’s suite of ADAS/Autonomy features. You will be part of the Palo Alto-based System Integration team which works cross-functionally with Rivian SW development teams based locally and throughout Rivian locations around the country. This role is expected to be onsite, with occasional travel (10-20% per year) required to meet development and testing needs.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for executing the software release, system testing, offboard hardware / software integration for Rivian’s Data Collection Fleet supporting Autonomy & AI.
- Lead the debugging and prioritization of functional issues on data-collection platforms, addressing problems that may arise from Hardware, Software or Electrical systems.
- Act as the primary point of contact on the vehicle when issues occur, prioritizing and escalating them based on their impact on users and the overall program.
- Support developing, maintaining, and improving the overall health and stability of data collection vehicle software.
- Support for software and hardware integration for the data collection fleet.
- Support the triage of system hardware & software bugs and investigate perceived issues.
- Provide comprehensive advanced systems expertise in integrating sensors onto vehicle platforms, deploy architecture changes, and managing vehicle revisions, thus ensuring that new configurations work as expected during development and operations.
- Support efforts related to integration including overall vehicle build, commissioning/bring-up of various sensor & actuator systems, and developmental testing on prototype and production vehicle platforms.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field
- 2+ years of work experience working on automated driving applications
- Strong Python, Bash software development skills
- Strong Linux experience
- Familiar with Git, Jira, and software development lifecycle tools
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Hardware and Software Tinkerer
- Knowledge of Network Architecture (TCP/IP, UDP, PTP, Hardware Layer)
- Strong working knowledge of automotive electrical systems and communication protocols
- (CAN, Flexray , Ethernet) and relevant debug tools
- Hands-on experience debugging complex systems that involve multiple ECUs with interfaces to various vehicle sub-systems
- Good communication and willing Project Manager
- Strong knowledge of integration of Lidar, Radar, and Camera sensor fusion for data collection
- Ability to work in office 5 days a week, you are a person who runs towards solving problems
- Clean driving record with professional experience driving prototype test-vehicles in test-tracks
Pay Disclosure
Salary Range for California Based Applicants: $129,300.00 - $161,600.00 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
