Role Summary
In this role, you will be a member of the Rivian’s Future Programs group working on the next generation of products. You will partner with existing engineers through all stages of program development, from concept to launch, ensuring the quality, reliability and safety of the electro-mechanical and powertrain systems.
Responsibilities
- As a key member of our team, you will collaborate with engineers to support the assembly, bring up, and testing of electro-mechanical, drive unit, energy storage systems, and various low voltage electrical systems
- Perform diagnosis and repair of vehicle’s electrical/mechanical/software systems
- Collaborate with engineers to investigate and resolve mechanical and electrical issues
- Creating, implementing, and providing feedback to standard operating procedures
- Constructing and reworking harnesses
- Fabricate and/or modify prototype components and fixtures
- Install instrumentation, test equipment, and other components on prototype vehicles in accordance with engineering specifications, standards, and/or test procedures
- Supporting electro-mechanical testing and documenting test procedures, setups, and results clearly and concisely
- Maintain detailed records of all work performed
- Report and document issues identified during assembly or tests
- Ability to self-manage and handle multiple priorities and organize own workload to meet organizational goals
Qualifications
- 5+ years of Technician Experience working directly with electromechanical systems and powertrain systems
- Expertise in instrumentation (Thermocouples, RTDs, Strain Gauges, Accelerometers, etc.)
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills to solve powertrain and electromechanical system issues
- Work in a team environment and communicate with fellow coworkers
- Basic workshop etiquette, provide verbal and writing communication across all teams
- Fabrication experience and performing assembly tasks, including operation of manual machine tools, common shop power and hand tools
- Familiarity in CAN and/or CAN-FD protocols
- Experience with issue tracking software such as Jira
- Preferred: Experience using 3D printers
Pay Disclosure
Salary range for California Based Applicants: $40.67/hour - $50.84/hour (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
