Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager of Reputational Risk and Intelligence to lead our efforts in protecting and strengthening our brand’s reputation. This role is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive reputational risk strategy, focusing on risk identification, social media listening, and intelligence reporting. This leader will work closely with the Corporate Communications, Risk Management, and Executive teams to proactively monitor public sentiment, detect emerging threats, and shape our company’s response to potential crises.
Responsibilities
- Develop and Lead Reputational Risk Strategy: Design and implement a reputational risk program to proactively identify, monitor, and mitigate risks impacting our brand.
- Social media Listening and Analysis: Oversee social media listening efforts to track sentiment trends, identify emerging issues, and respond effectively to potential reputational risks.
- Risk Monitoring and Intelligence Gathering: Establish processes for gathering and analyzing data from multiple channels, including social media, traditional media, regulatory developments, and stakeholder actions.
- Crisis Prevention and Response: Work cross-functionally to prepare for and respond to potential PR crises, ensuring swift and strategic action.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, providing data-driven insights and actionable intelligence on reputation-related risks.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with teams across Corporate Communications, Marketing, Legal, and
- Compliance to ensure consistent and strategic messaging.
- Leadership and Influence: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members while advocating for the program’s needs at the executive level.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in international relations, communications, public relations, risk management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in reputational risk, communications, or intelligence.
- Proven track record of building and leading reputational risk or social listening programs, including crisis management experience.
- Strong understanding of social media analytics, sentiment analysis tools, and intelligence-gathering best practices: Liferaft, Talkwalker, Recorded Future, Factiva etc.
- Experience building similar programs, leading large teams, with geographic spread and reporting to c-suite level.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
- Additional language skills a plus.Familiarity with AI-driven social listening and media monitoring tools (preferred).
- Experience in high-profile, multinational companies or highly regulated industries (preferred).
- A proactive, analytical, and strategic mindset, with a passion for managing and mitigating reputational risk (preferred).
Pay Disclosure
Salary Range for California Based Applicants: $191,600 — $239,500 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
