Rivian is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever. This goes for the emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles we build, and the curious, courageous souls we seek to attract.
As a company, we constantly challenge what’s possible, never simply accepting what has always been done. We reframe old problems, seek new solutions and operate comfortably in areas that are unknown. Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.
Role Summary
The Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) team at Rivian is hands on with every hardware project, from circuit to system. You will know our products inside and out and drive our vehicles to be the safest most reliable EVs on the road. Since our systems hardware and software is complex, we rely on testing to validate the EMC design performance in emulated and real-world electromagnetic environments. The opening will be located at our Tustin, CA facility and reports directly to the Sr. Manager of EMC Engineering.

- You'll be responsible for following standard operating procedures to protect lab equipment and assemble valid test setups, making sure we are meeting our internal EMC test specs and identifying and escalating deviations.
- You'll be tracking and auditing equipment calibration and repair as part of your test system checks.
- You’ll provide written test logs and summary data reports for completed testing.
- You'll collaborate with electronics unit and systems design responsible engineers, test software engineers, and other electrical test technicians. This will require good oral and written communication skill, strong teamwork and accountability, and maintaining a good working rapport with engineers and techs from other domains.
- Identify and report on status and any found test issues in real-time.
