Rivian is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever. This goes for the emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles we build, and the curious, courageous souls we seek to attract.
As a company, we constantly challenge what’s possible, never simply accepting what has always been done. We reframe old problems, seek new solutions and operate comfortably in areas that are unknown. Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.
Role Summary
As a Software Test Engineer specializing in Embedded Camera Systems, you will lead the validation of our camera hardware, firmware, and low-level software. Your work will ensure that our camera systems meet the high-performance standards required by our automotive OEM partners, focusing on low-level profiling, system stability, and integration with other embedded components. This role is essential to maintain the quality and reliability of our hardware and firmware interactions in real-world, demanding conditions.
Responsibilities
Low-Level System Profiling and Performance Testing: Conduct detailed profiling and performance testing on embedded camera hardware and firmware, focusing on latency, thermal performance, and resource utilization.
Firmware Integration Validation: Test firmware and hardware integration to ensure seamless functionality across different camera models and embedded systems configurations.
Stability and Durability Testing: Execute long-duration and stress tests under various conditions to identify potential weaknesses in system stability and performance.
Collaboration with Hardware and Firmware Teams: Work closely with hardware and firmware engineers to understand system-level requirements and ensure hardware-software compatibility.
Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) Testing: Develop and execute HIL test setups to simulate real-world automotive conditions, validating camera system interactions within an emulated hardware environment to catch issues before deployment.
Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) Testing: Implement SIL testing for embedded software and AI models to ensure robustness and compatibility before hardware integration. Test system behavior under simulated conditions to identify and resolve issues early in the development cycle.
