Role Summary
In the Sr. Material Handler role, you will perform a variety of duties related to the logistics of remanufacturing operations. Including but not limited to: receiving, stocking, auditing, transacting and shipping a variety of material to support remanufacturing operations. The opening is located onsite at our Shepherdsville, KY Remanufacturing facility and reports directly to the Parts and Logistics Lead.
Responsibilities
- Order, receive, stock and transfer parts and materials as needed to support end-to-end remanufacturing operations
- Maintain parts cages and lineside locations through physical and systemic updates (new revisions, storage location changes, etc.)
- Create, edit and process remanufacturing production orders
- Perform cycle counts and maintain inventory records to report to management and other stake holders
- Operate powered industrial equipment (fork lift, reach truck, stock chaser, etc.)
- Support general material handling requests from leadership and team members
- Understand and utilize standard work procedures (SOP's/work instructions)
- Act as a liaison to support and coordinate the shipping needs for Remanufacturing
- Participate in 5S audits and continuous improvement initiatives
- Perform all other duties as required or assigned within the scope of the position
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2-4 years of warehousing experience including: Inbound, outbound and Inventory control
- Ability to operate Powered Industrial Equipment: Stand up Fork lift, Reach truck, stock chaser
- SAP-EWM and MRP knowledge is a plus
- Ability to travel less than 10%
- Understanding and compliant to PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) guidelines
- Ability to stand for 8-12 hours per day
- Frequent use of hands to handle materials up to 50 lbs.
- Required to stoop and kneel to retrieve materials up to 50 lbs. under select racking or floor pile locations
- Required to communicate using telephone or email
- Ability to view, read, and interpret documents, safety rules, and standard operating procedures
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to perform all duties in the warehouse that may contain dust, high noise, hot and cold weather
