Role Summary
In this position, you will work closely with the Software, Hardware, Systems and SoC groups to define and develop the infrastructure to test and execute system validation efforts for next-generation ADAS control module systems for advanced autonomy. Build a validation and benchmark framework to verify SoC solutions in autonomous vehicles, identify gaps and risks at the component, module, system and vehicle levels, and drive hardware architecture decisions. You will work with other cross-functional teams to gather all test requirements and ensure that test results meet the performance requirements specified by the architecture.
Responsibilities
- Work with cross-functional teams including EE board design, ADAS SW, embedded SW, sensors and vehicle integration to refine and execute ADAS system validation plans and test suites on Rivian’s test vehicles
- Design and implement toolkits (HW and SW) for ADAS system end-to-end validation and test vehicle benchmarking
- Use the developed toolkit to collect performance data from onboard ADAS systems, perform data characterization and analysis. Generate test reports and present them to cross-functional teams
- Validate and perform system interfaces of IO protocols, compute engines and networking components
- Address issues or performance gaps identified during the validation process. Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify and implement solutions to address or mitigate these issues
- Maintain good traceability by documenting validation processes and results in Rivian’s tracking system
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in ADAS or Autonomous driving
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or relevant field
- Expertise or prior work experience in one of the following areas: design, bring-up or validation on embedded platform development in ADAS compute systems
- Experience on identifying system use cases and requirements
- Experience with firmware or device driver programming
- Demonstrate proficiency in C, Python or other scripting language for test automation
- Hand-on experience with lab equipment and lab debug
- Excellent debugging and analytical skills, written and verbal communication skills, and a strong team player
Pay Disclosure
Salary Range for California Based Candidates: $117,200.00 - $146,500.00 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
