Role Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced transformation leader to join our dynamic finance and accounting team in our Serbia office. This individual will play a critical role by being the point person for finance & accounting as we expand into new markets across the globe, helping to understand local regulations and standing up entities and processes to ensure we can operate successfully. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of finance/accounting and how to approach entering new markets, how to design and build new business processes, and have the ability to operate these functions once stood up. This person must have exceptional communication skills and the project management skills for new market expansion.
Responsibilities
● Act as the single point of contact for finance and accounting for new market expansion projects in Europe, Asia and beyond
● Build / manage a comprehensive new market expansion playbook for finance (covering: entity establishment, local regulations, bank accounts, tax, accounting, filing, systems, etc.)
● Lead and oversee multiple new market expansion projects (as the finance and accounting representative)
● Collaborate with our market expansion team, legal, operations, and other departments to ensure seamless market entry.
● Collaborate effectively with business owners, sponsors, IT, consultants, and leadership to align and achieve project objectives, ensuring all upstream and downstream stakeholders are involved early in the project
● Develop comprehensive proposals, RFPs (vendor selections), ROI analyses, future state process designs, and system requirements
● Monitor and report on project progress, identify and mitigate risks, and escalate issues as needed.
● Oversee the establishment of new legal entities and bank accounts in target countries, ensuring compliance with local regulations & standards
● Support implementation and post-go-live operations through stabilization, if necessary
Qualifications
● Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
● 5+ years of progressing experience in finance / accounting with international exposure
● Proven experience in managing financial aspects of international expansion projects
● Strong understanding of international accounting standards and tax regulations
● Excellent communication (strong English), interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills
● Experience with ERP systems and international bank accounts
● Ability to influence and build consensus across different levels and functions within an organization.
● Experience with developing proposals, RFPs, ROI analyses, and driving future state process and digital design.
● Strong project management and organizational skills, with experience in process mapping and modeling tools
