Role Summary
This role is essential for the assembly of power electronics components used in our electric power conversion products, specifically inverters, onboard chargers, and DC to DC converters. A key aspect of this position is the hands-on assembly, which requires a strong ability to use various hand and power tools safely and effectively. It's also critical to be able to carefully and accurately follow detailed written assembly instructions to ensure the proper construction of these units. Furthermore, you'll be providing crucial support to our Engineering team by assisting in the diagnosis of typical PCBA assembly issues. When such issues arise, you will be responsible for performing rework on the PCBAs according to the specific dispositions provided by the engineers. This combination of assembly skills and technical support is vital for the efficient production and quality assurance of our power electronics products.
Responsibilities
- Build and solder prototype onboard charger, DC to DC converter, and inverter.
- Support Engineering in various project by interpret of electronic schematics, assembly drawings and other design and assembly documents.
- Provide manufacturing support in product design, new product development, and fabrication, assembly, tooling, and testing.
- Support receiving and shipping of Electronics components and completed unit.
- Support material inventories and kit parts for assembly.
- Operate soldering equipment and perform PCBA testing.
- Support the development of testing methods and test fixtures.
- Support the development of work instructions and routers for manufacture traceability.
- Support factory manufacture production in assembly as products transition into production phase of life cycle.
- Keep equipment operational by proper maintenance and repair services, following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures.
- Perform pcba and unit verification tests for functionality and/or quality to ensure product performs to design intended.
- Document test results and records all deviations and modifications from the original design in build book.
- Support the build of wire harness per IPC/WHMA A-620C standard.
- Perform rework PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) this includes:
- Troubleshooting circuit
- Inspection of PCB per IPC standards
- Remove and apply conformal coating.
- Cut trace, solder components, and add jumper wires per engineering disposition.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in an electrical capacity or equivalent with at least 5 years of experience.
- Experience in Electrostatic discharge (ESD)
- Knowledge of inspection Printed Circuit Board per IPC- 610 pcba manufacture and Solder acceptance per J-001 standards.
- Experience in soldering per IPC class 3
- Basic knowledge of harness standard per IPC/WHMA A-620C
- Solid understanding of test equipment (multi-meters, oscilloscopes, power supply, etc.).
- Ability to understand electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics.
- Electro-mechanical experience in control circuits and component specification is desired. Circuit board design and Circuit board test
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with all company departments and customers.
- Basic understand of Google documents and JIRA
Pay Disclosure
Salary Range for California Based Applicants: $33.31 - $41.63 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law)
