Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and technically proficient Electric Propulsion Test Engineer to support advanced electrical propulsion system development, integration, and maintenance. This role requires deep expertise in electric motor hardware, power electronics, control system software, troubleshooting, system-level diagnostics, and team spirit. The Test Engineer will play a key role in the delivery of high-complexity projects, ensuring quality, compliance, and performance across all phases of development and production.
Responsibilities
- Define, execute and deliver test campaigns for ZeroAvia’s Electric Propulsion System across multiple in-house test assets.
- Supporting the implementation of procedures for executing tests involving high voltage power and coolant systems.
- Analyse test data and evaluate performance of equipment under test.
- Collaborate with design engineers to optimize electrical layouts for manufacturability, safety, and performance.
- Develop test procedures, documentation, and quality assurance protocols for verification and certification testing purposes
- Ensure full traceability of test laboratory configuration, equipment under test, documentation of problem reports, deviation from test objectives and input for design change requests.
Key skills and experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 1 to 4 years of experience in propulsion or engine systems testing.
- Strong understanding of engine test stands and high voltage testing.
- Experience in aviation systems engineering, including requirements and validation.
- Experience with environmental testing per DO-160G is an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and in teams.
- Willingness to travel internationally as required.
- Experience integrating systems for testing and configuring data acquisition systems.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and electrical risk mitigation.
